Snack Boxes

Snack boxes are sized to your portion rather than a standard carton, usually small enough to hold comfortably in one hand at a counter. A grease-resistant inner coating stops oil staining the printing, which matters for anything fried and costs little even for drier snacks. Event runs are practical from 100 boxes; tell us the date and we'll confirm the production timing.

Snack Boxes for Eating on the Move

A snack box is made to be eaten from, usually standing up, walking around or sitting at a desk. That shapes everything about it. It has to open easily, stay steady when someone reaches in, and still look tidy when it's half empty.

Buyers are concession stands, cafés, festival vendors, kiosk operators and office caterers serving loose snacks such as fries, nuggets, nuts or sweets. A second group is snack brands selling packaged items, like bars, crackers and chip bags, that need a box to sell them from at a counter. Both buy for speed: a box that folds in seconds and gets food into a customer's hand while the queue keeps moving.

Snack Box Dimensions, Board and Inner Coating

Snack boxes run on kraft card or coated white board.

Spec Detail
Board Kraft or coated white, food-grade
Caliper 16–24pt
Size Built from your portion weight or a sample
Inner face Grease-resistant coating
Recycled content Available on food-grade stock
Tolerance ±1/16" (1.5mm)

Dispenser cartons for packaged snacks are sized differently, around the pack itself and the number of packs held. Send one pack and the count you want per carton, and we'll build the dieline from that and confirm the measurements in writing before the proof. For loose snacks, a sample portion in a bag is the quickest way to size the box.

Single Portions or a Counter Dispenser

This page covers two different jobs. Single-portion boxes hold loose food that's eaten straight from the box. A counter dispenser carton holds a row or stack of packaged snacks and lets customers take one at a time straight from the counter.

The dispenser earns its place where impulse buying matters: beside a till, on a café counter or at a cinema kiosk, where a snack nobody planned to buy gets picked up anyway. It also saves staff from restocking loose packs by hand. If you only sell loose food, skip it, because a single-portion box is all you need. Choose by what you sell, not by which box looks better on paper.

Branding a Small Snack Carton

Plan the artwork around one clear mark, because small boxes have small panels: a logo or name on the front, a short message on the back, and nothing that needs close reading. Our free design help includes a mockup at actual size, so you can see how small type reads before the proof.

On coated white board, full color works well for photographs and bright snack brands. On kraft, one or two dark inks look deliberate and keep costs down. Inside print is worth a thought, since a loose-snack box is looked into more than looked at. On a dispenser carton, put the selling message on the panels that stay visible as packs are taken.

Snack Boxes for Concessions, Kiosks and Sweet Counters

Concession stands at stadiums, cinemas and fairs are the biggest buyers of single-portion boxes, for fries, nachos, nuggets and roasted nuts. Food trucks and festival vendors use them for the same reasons: fast to fold, easy to hold, no plate needed.

Sweets and candy counters use small boxes for pick-and-mix, and dispenser cartons for wrapped bars and lollipops. Cafés put cookies and bites in them beside the coffee machine. Office caterers use them for afternoon snack drops. Snack brands selling into convenience stores and gyms ship their bars in dispenser cartons, so the shop can set the box straight on the counter without unpacking anything.

Lead Times for Snack Box Orders

Snack boxes run in 8–12 business days once you approve the proof. If you're working toward a fixed date, such as a season opener or a product launch, tell us when you request the quote. Rush is available at extra cost, quoted upfront, if standard timing won't make it.

The minimum is 100 boxes, so a single event or a new flavor doesn't commit you to thousands. Pricing covers the die, plates and setup, and shipping is included. Every run passes a three-stage check before it leaves. If the bulk boxes don't match the approved proof, we reprint at our cost. On orders above 10,000, free samples are available first.

What brands say about this box

Answers before you have to ask.

What sizes work best for snack portions?

That depends on your portion rather than a standard size. Most snack boxes sit small enough to hold in one hand at a counter. Send us the portion weight or a sample and we'll build the dieline around it.

Can snack boxes be grease-resistant?

Yes, and most should be. A grease-resistant coating on the inside face stops oil soaking through and staining the print. For drier snacks it matters less, but it's inexpensive and protects the box's appearance.

Can snack boxes be made from recycled stock?

Yes. Recycled content is available across most food-grade stocks, though it has to remain suitable for food contact. Tell us what recycled percentage you're aiming for and we'll spec accordingly.

How soon can snack boxes be produced?

Most run in about 8–12 business days once you approve the proof. Rush production is available at an added cost. Shipping is included, along with unlimited free design help.

Can snack boxes be ordered per event?

Yes, and it's common. Events often need a one-off design and quantity, and 100 boxes is low enough to make that practical. Tell us the date you need them and we'll confirm whether standard turnaround works.

Tell us what you're shipping. We'll tell you what it should ship in.
