White Gable Boxes

White gable boxes give the handled style a bright coated surface for clean, sharp, saturated printing, including the inside faces seen when the handle opens. The trade is that white shows grease and handling marks sooner than kraft, so lamination or a grease-resistant face helps wherever marks are likely. With artwork on file, reorders usually need no new proof or setup.

A Handled Box for Artwork That Needs a True White

Some brands can't print on brown. Their palette has pale tones, their packaging uses photography, or their color has to match the rest of the range exactly, and any of those needs a white surface underneath. White gables give the handled style that surface. They're bought by confectioners and sweet shops with bright packaging, by gift retailers, and by brands moving a product line into a handled format without changing the look customers already know. Most specify print on every panel, since the coated surface rewards it. If the boxes will pass through many hands before they reach the customer, plan the protective finish at the same time as the artwork, not after the first run comes back.

White Gable Board, Coating and Grease Face

White gables are made on white coated paperboard, with the coated face outward for print.

Attribute White gable boxes
Stock Bleached paperboard, coated for print
Board weight Rated to your filled weight
Grease-resistant face Optional, specified separately from color
Lamination Optional, keeps marks off the printed surface
Print Full color, outside and inside
Size Cut to your product's dimensions

The grease face and the lamination are separate decisions. One protects the board from what's inside; the other protects the print from what happens outside. Many orders need only one of them, and some need neither.

When White Is Worth Its Extra Upkeep Over Kraft

White earns its place when the artwork can't work any other way. Accurate brand color, pale tones and photographic images all need a bright base, and on brown stock they print muddy or fade into the board. If your design is a one-color logo, white is the more expensive route to a result kraft would give you. The second test is handling. Fingerprints and smears show on a white panel, so a box packed in a busy kitchen or carried through a crowd needs lamination or a grease-resistant face, which adds to the cost. For takeout counters with oily menu items, that protection is part of the spec rather than an extra. For sweets or gifts packed somewhere clean, white often needs nothing more.

Full Color, Inside Faces and a Protective Finish

White board is where the full range of print on a gable opens up. Full-color print reproduces photography, gradients and exact brand tones. Inside print puts a pattern or message where the customer looks once the handle is parted. Lamination protects the printed surface and keeps marks from settling into the ink. A grease-resistant face can sit on the board whatever the artwork. What still limits you is the structure: the angled top panels are small and broken by the handle, and heavy color across a crease will crack along the score. Plan the main artwork for the front and back walls, and keep solid color fields off the folds so the box looks as clean folded as it did on the proof.

White Gables for Sweets, Treats and Branded Takeaway

White gables show up most where color sells the product. Pastel-printed candy and treat packs are a common use, from pick-and-mix bundles to Easter and holiday assortments carried out of a sweet shop. Gift retailers use them as a printed alternative to a bag for small purchases. Brands use them for launch kits and influencer packs, where the box gets photographed before it's opened. Cafés and counters use them for branded takeaway when the design calls for bright color, adding a grease-resistant face where the contents need it. Party suppliers order them in themed colors for children's events, where a white base lets the theme print true rather than tinted by the board underneath.

Clean Boxes Out the Door: Checks and Reprints

On white board a smudge or a drifted color is obvious, so the checks before dispatch matter more than usual. Every box goes through a three-stage check, so a marked panel or color shift is caught on our side, not found when a carton is opened at your counter. If the bulk run still doesn't match the proof you approved, we reprint it at our cost. Design help is unlimited and free up to proof approval. The minimum order is 100 boxes, and production takes 8–12 business days from approval, with rush available at extra cost, quoted upfront. Prices include shipping, and dies, plates and setup are in the quote rather than added afterward.

What brands say about this box

Answers before you have to ask.

Will white gable boxes stay clean in service?

They show grease and handling marks more readily than kraft, which matters in food service. For counters handling oily items we'd suggest kraft or a coated stock with a grease-resistant face.

Can white gable boxes be grease-resistant?

Yes. The coating sits on the board and is specified separately from the color, so a white gable can have the same grease-proof face as a kraft one. That's worth specifying for any food use.

Do white gable boxes need lamination?

Not necessarily, but it helps in food service. Lamination keeps grease marks off the printed surface, which matters more on white than on kraft where marks show less.

How soon can white gable boxes be made?

About 8–12 business days from proof approval, grease-resistant face included. Rush production is available at an extra cost quoted first.

Can white gable boxes be reordered quickly?

Yes. With your spec and artwork on file, reorders are straightforward and usually need no new proof, running in about 8–12 business days.
