Large Display Boxes

Large display boxes hold high-volume stock on a floor or endcap, and once a unit passes a certain height or shelf count, internal supports stop the shelves sagging under product weight within days. We move to corrugated rather than simply scaling up a folding build. Units ship flat and assemble in-store without written instructions. Campaign runs start at just 100 units.

Large Display Boxes for Floor and Endcap Placements

Floor and endcap space is something a store grants for a set period, usually tied to a promotion, and the display has to look as good on the last day of that period as on the first. That is the job a large unit is bought for. The buyers are brands running a launch or seasonal push through retail, distributors supplying several stores with the same unit, and anyone whose product sells in volume rather than one piece at a time. A large unit holds enough stock that staff aren't refilling it every hour, and it stands on its own instead of borrowing space on someone else's counter. The trade-off is that every structural weakness shows more at this size, so the build gets more attention than the print.

Corrugated Span, Support and Flat-Pack Specs for Big Units

At this size the board is mostly decided for you. The real questions are how far each shelf spans and what holds it up.

Attribute Specification
Board Corrugated, from single-wall C or B flute up to BC double-wall
Liner White for brighter print, or kraft, at the same strength
Internal supports Added as height and shelf count grow
Shelves Count and spacing set by your product
Delivery Flat, assembled in the store
Dimensions Built from the product and the placement

Once a unit stands well above counter height, double-wall board for tall, wide units is usually a better spend than single-wall with extra bracing. It costs more per unit, and it keeps shelf edges level when every bay is full.

Why a Floor Unit Beats Spreading Stock Across the Counter

The alternative to one large unit is several counter units spread around a store, and for some products that works. For volume sellers it usually doesn't. One floor unit puts the whole range in one place, so a shopper compares every option side by side instead of finding one flavor by the till and another by the door. It also gives staff a single point to refill and a single unit to check, which matters on a busy shop floor. Counter units compete with whatever the store already keeps there, while a floor unit brings its own space. Ranges sold in boxes, such as bulky boxed toys, simply don't fit on a counter, so a floor unit is where they end up.

Bold Graphics Sized for Reading From the Aisle

A large display is read from a distance before it's read up close, so the artwork has to work at both. The header and the side panels carry the brand to someone walking down the aisle, and they need big shapes and a short message rather than paragraphs. Full-color print works on corrugated, but the flute beneath the liner softens fine lines and small text, so keep detail for panels a customer sees from arm's length. A white liner gives brighter color than a kraft liner, at the same board strength. Lamination is possible on fluted board, though it adds cost and works against recycling, so on a unit that gets broken down after the promotion it's rarely worth paying for.

Large Displays for Snack Promotions, Toy Launches and Seasonal Drops

Large units are bought for campaigns where volume moves quickly. Snack and pantry promotions are the most common: multipacks of chips, cereal bars or a new sauce range stacked at an endcap during a supermarket offer. Toy and game launches use them through the holiday season, when boxed product needs to be visible from across the store. Drinks brands use them for seasonal flavors, and household and personal-care ranges use them to introduce a new line beside an established one. Distributors buy them in lots for multi-store rollouts, since one design ships flat to each location and goes up the same way everywhere. Wherever a product sells by the case rather than the piece, this is usually the right size.

Booking a Large Display Run Around a Store Date

Work backward from the date the unit has to be standing in the store. Production takes 8–12 business days from proof approval, so the proof needs signing off with enough time left for delivery and setup. If the date is tight, rush can be added at extra cost, quoted upfront so you can decide. Give us three figures, the product dimensions, the weight of a full shelf and the floor space the store has allocated, and the dieline and supports get designed around them. Shipping is included in the price, which matters on units this size. A three-stage check runs on every unit before dispatch, so a weak shelf or a misprint is caught by us rather than found on the shop floor.

What brands say about this box

Answers before you have to ask.

How large can a display unit go before it needs reinforcement?

It depends on the board rather than a fixed size. A tall or wide unit has more unsupported span, so we move to corrugated or add internal supports rather than scaling a folding build up.

Can large displays be shipped flat?

Yes, and most are. They ship flat and assemble in-store, which cuts shipping cost considerably. We design the assembly to be straightforward so retail staff can put it up without instructions.

Do large displays need internal supports?

Usually, once you pass a certain height or shelf count. Supports stop the shelves sagging under product weight, which is what makes a large display look tired within days of going up.

How long do large display units take?

About 8–12 business days once the proof is approved, including internal supports. Rush production is available at a quoted premium, with shipping included.

Can I order large displays for one campaign?

Yes, from 100 units. Campaign displays are usually one-off runs rather than ongoing stock, which is exactly what the low minimum is there for.
