Lip Balm Boxes

Sticks, tins and pots knock together when they share an empty carton. Our lip balm boxes give each one its own cavity in a die-cut tray laid out to your count, whether you sell individually or in multipacks. Kraft stock suits natural and handmade lines, while coated white board delivers brighter, more accurate color. Production runs start at 100 boxes, with shipping included.

Lip Balm Boxes for Sticks, Pots and Tins

Lip balm sells in more ways than almost any other cosmetic: one stick by the register, a three-pack in a gift shop, a tin added to a skincare order, a pot sold at a weekend market. Each route asks something different of the box. A lip balm box on this page means the printed carton or tray that carries one or several balms, whatever the container. Most buyers are small and mid-sized makers: handmade skincare brands, apothecaries, beekeepers selling balm alongside honey, and brands adding a low-priced item to a wider line. They tend to order modest quantities, change scents with the seasons, and care as much about how the box fits their brand story as about protecting a product that rarely breaks.

Lip Balm Box Specs for Singles and Multipack Trays

Balm is light, so board weight is rarely the issue; format is. Natural lines usually choose unbleached kraft board, while brands that need exact color go to coated white.

Spec Single Multipack
Board Kraft or SBS Kraft or SBS
Caliper 14–16pt 16–18pt
Construction Straight tuck carton Tray with sleeve, lid or tuck
Insert Usually none Die-cut cavities
Containers Stick, tin or pot Matched or mixed
Tolerance About ±0.5–1mm About ±0.5–1mm

Tins and pots sit lower and wider than sticks, so a mixed pack carries cavities of two depths in the same tray. The outer size is set by the tray, not the other way round.

When Lip Balm Sells Better From a Counter Box

Single balms are small enough to vanish on a shelf, which is why so many are sold from a countertop display box rather than shelved one at a time. A display box is a carton that opens into a tray: the top folds back or tears away, and a printed header stands up behind rows of balm. One piece of board does two jobs, carrying stock to the shop and then selling it by the till. Retailers like it because it takes little counter space and needs no setup. Individual cartons still make sense for gift shops and online orders, and many makers run both: cartoned singles for the web store, and a display of unboxed sticks for wholesale accounts.

Printing Lip Balm Cartons on Kraft or Coated Stock

Kraft and coated board print differently, and artwork should be drawn for the stock it's going on. On kraft, ink sits on a brown base, so pale colors disappear and fine detail goes soft. One or two dark inks, a bold logo and plenty of bare board is the design that looks deliberate rather than faded. On coated SBS, full-color CMYK prints crisply, which suits scent illustrations or photography, and Pantone spot colors hold an exact brand hue. Foil works on both and is often the one finish a small balm brand chooses. Lamination is rarely worth paying for on a balm carton: the box is small, cheap to replace and usually thrown away within days of purchase.

Lip Balm Boxes for Handmade Makers and Market Stalls

Handmade skincare brands use balm cartons to match the rest of a natural line, often on the same kraft board bar soap brands tend to choose, so a balm and a soap read as one range. Market and fair sellers favor three-packs, since a bundled price moves stock faster than singles at a stall. Gift shops and apothecaries buy wholesale and want counter displays. Wedding and corporate favors use a single printed carton carrying a name or a date, typically in short runs. Skincare brands add a balm as a low-priced entry item and box it to match their bestsellers, which is often the cheapest way to get a new customer to try the line.

Placing a Lip Balm Box Order, Singles or Trays

Tell us the containers, the count per pack and which stock you're leaning toward, and we'll quote singles and trays side by side if you're undecided. The dieline comes from your container measurements, you approve a proof before anything prints, and design help costs nothing however many rounds it takes. The quote includes dies, plates and setup, so a tray layout doesn't add a surprise line later. Production runs 8–12 business days from proof approval, with rush available at an extra cost we state first. Boxes are inspected at three points in production, and if the bulk order doesn't match the approved proof, the reprint costs you nothing. Shipping is included, and the minimum is 100 boxes.

What brands say about this box

Answers before you have to ask.

Can one box hold several balms?

Yes, and multipacks are common in balm. We cut a tray with a cavity per stick or pot, so nothing knocks together in transit. Tell us the count and the container type and we'll lay the cavities out to suit.

What stocks suit balm boxes best?

Kraft suits natural and handmade balm lines and recycles easily. Coated white board is better if you need bright, accurate color. Both work at the small sizes balm uses — it's really a question of how your brand positions itself.

Can balm boxes be recyclable?

Yes. Kraft recycles easily and is the usual choice for brands that market on natural ingredients. If you need to pass a specific retailer or marketplace recyclability screen, tell us and we'll spec the stock to meet it.

How soon can I get lip balm boxes?

Usually 8–12 business days after you sign off the proof, whether you're ordering singles or multipack trays. Rush is available at an added cost, stated upfront, and shipping is included.

Can balm boxes be ordered in small runs?

Yes. Our minimum is 100 boxes, which suits small-batch and handmade balm makers testing scents rather than committing to thousands. Reorders are straightforward once your design is on file.

Tell us what you're shipping. We'll tell you what it should ship in.
