Clear Cookie Boxes
Clear cookie boxes are fully transparent, so the whole batch shows from every angle rather than through a single cut-out. Not every transparent material is food-grade, so tell us if cookies sit directly against it and we'll specify one that is. Printing on clear needs a white underprint to read properly. Clear costs more than board, so we'll quote both for comparison.

Clear Cookie Boxes for Bakes Decorated on Every Side
Some cookies are decorated well past the top face. Iced sugar cookies with piped borders, sandwich cookies showing a band of filling, a column of rounds tied with ribbon: the detail runs around the sides, and a printed board box hides most of it. That's the buyer for this page. Clear cookie boxes are bought by decorators, event bakers and gift-cookie businesses whose work is the decoration, and who want a customer to judge it before the lid comes off. They also suit sellers who stack cookies in a column, since a side view shows the count at a glance. If the sides of your cookies are plain, a framed view through printed board does the same job.
Contact Grade, Print Base and Fit for a Clear Cookie Box
| Attribute | Spec |
|---|---|
| Material | Transparent sheet, food-grade where cookies touch it |
| Build | Clear lid and clear base |
| Sizing | Cut to your cookie diameter, count and stack height |
| Tolerance | ±0.5–1mm, so the lid closes flush over the top row |
| Color laid over a white underprint | |
| Inner support | Optional food-safe tray or divider |
Food-grade sheet is the spec when cookies sit against the walls; if each cookie is bagged first, standard clear sheet is enough. Clear stands apart from every board on the materials pages: there's no grayboard core that would hide the batch and no printed wrap, so the stack itself becomes the outside of the box.
Full Transparency Instead of a Single Cut-Out
A window shows one face of the batch from one angle. A clear build shows all of it, from above, from the side and through the base, which matters when the selling point is a decorated edge or a stacked count. The trade is that there's nowhere to print a large brand panel, so the brand has to live on a band, a sticker or a small mark. Most clear builds follow the clear lid lifting off a matching base, because the customer can open and close it without tearing anything, and the box stays presentable once a few cookies are gone. If the box has to carry copy, ingredients or a brand story, printed board with a window is the better choice.
Printing on Clear Stock Without Losing the View
Every square inch of ink on a clear box is a square inch the customer can't see through, so print here is really a decision about what to block. The usual approach is a small logo on the lid, a thin band of color near the base, or a name across one side. A white underprint sits behind any colored area so it reads at full strength; without it, the color takes on the tone of the cookies behind. A single-color logo suits the format best, and full-color artwork rarely makes sense on a box bought for its transparency. A printed band around the box adds branding without touching the sheet, and it can change each season while the box stays the same.
Clear Cookie Boxes for Iced Sets, Favor Tables and Sweet Counters
Decorated sugar cookie sets are the core use: initials, a baby-shower theme or a company logo piped in royal icing, sold in sixes and twelves. Event bakers use small clear boxes as wedding and party favors, one or two cookies each, lined up on a table where guests choose by look. Cookie stacks tied with ribbon in a tall clear box are another regular order around the holidays. The format also crosses into boxed sweets and confection gifts, where sellers mix cookies with chocolates or meringues and want every piece visible. Plain drop cookies sold by the dozen are the poor fit. They look the same from every side, so the extra visibility adds cost without adding sales.
Ordering Clear Boxes Sized to Your Stack
Send the cookie diameter, the count and how high they stack, and we build the dieline from those numbers. We confirm in writing whether each figure is an inside or outside dimension, because on a clear box a few millimeters of slack shows: cookies slump to one side and the view looks careless. Orders start at 100 boxes, and production takes 8–12 business days once the proof is signed off. Need them sooner? Rush costs extra, and we price it before you commit. If what arrives doesn't match the proof, we run it again at our expense. Freight is part of the price you're quoted, so there's no shipping line to add later.

What brands say about this box
They live there rather than here, where we can't edit them, delete them, or pick which ones you get to see. That is exactly what makes them worth reading.
Read all reviews on Trustpilot(opens in a new tab)Answers before you have to ask.
Are clear boxes food-safe for direct contact?
Food-grade clear materials are available and that's what we'd specify for direct contact. Not every transparent material qualifies, so it's worth confirming rather than assuming. Tell us if cookies sit directly against it.
Can clear boxes be printed?
Yes, though print on transparent material behaves differently from board. Colors need a white underprint to show properly, or they appear washed out against whatever is behind them.
Are clear boxes more expensive than board?
Usually, yes. Transparent materials cost more per unit than board and print less easily. The trade is full visibility, which for gifting and premium cookies can justify it. We'd quote both to compare.
How long do clear cookie boxes take?
Around 8–12 business days from proof approval. Transparent materials occasionally add a little at the sourcing stage, and we'll tell you if so. Rush is available at a quoted premium.
What's the minimum order for clear cookie boxes?
100 boxes. Clear materials cost more per unit than board, so the low minimum lets you test whether the format lifts your sales before committing to a larger run.
