Coffee Cups
Coffee cups come single wall for cold drinks and short holds, or double wall, which retains heat longer and removes the need for a separate sleeve. Wrap printing is applied flat and formed into a cone, so artwork distorts slightly toward the base; we correct for it at proof stage. Most paper cups have a lining that affects recyclability, so check before calling them recyclable.

Branded Coffee Cups for the Item Every Customer Walks Out Holding
Of everything a café hands over, the cup gets the most attention. It leaves the counter in a customer's hand, ends up on a desk or in a car's cup holder, and is seen by everyone they pass on the way. That makes a printed cup the cheapest street-level advertising a coffee business owns. Independent cafés, coffee chains, kiosks and carts, bakeries serving hot drinks and event caterers all order them. Most serve two or three sizes, sometimes hot and iced from the same counter, so an order is really a small range of cups and lids that has to look like one brand at every size. Getting the wall, lining and lid right per size matters as much as the artwork.
Coffee Cup Specs by Wall, Size and Lining
Cups are specified by wall, capacity and lining rather than by board caliper.
| Spec | Coffee cup |
|---|---|
| Wall | Single wall or double wall |
| Capacity | Sized in ounces, such as 8oz and 12oz |
| Stock | Kraft or white paperboard |
| Lining | PE lining on the inside face |
| Lids | Offered to fit each cup size |
| Inks | Food-safe |
Choose kraft cup stock when the brand leans natural and the artwork is one or two colors; white paperboard gives brighter, more accurate full color. The PE lining is the layer that holds the drink and keeps it off the board. Lids are matched to the rim of each cup size, so they're ordered per size rather than as one universal part.
Why Print the Cup Instead of Wrapping It
The alternative to a printed cup is a plain cup with a separate wrap-around sleeve carrying the brand. That route has real advantages: plain cups are interchangeable stock, and the sleeve can change with the season. A printed cup wins when the brand needs to show on every drink, including the iced and short-hold ones that never get a sleeve, and when the counter doesn't want one more item to stock and slide on during a rush. Printing the whole wall also gives far more room than a band does, enough for a logo, a line of copy and a social handle. Where a café serves mostly hot drinks and changes its look several times a year, the sleeve route is often the better spend, so price both before committing.
Wrap Artwork on a Tapered Cup: What Prints and What Shifts
A cup has no front panel. A logo placed once faces away from half the people who see it, which is why many cafés repeat the mark two or three times around the wall. Solid colors, bold type and line work hold up better than fine photography on a curved surface. Kraft cups show ink warmer and more muted than white ones, so a pale brand color may need adjusting before it goes onto brown stock. Keep text clear of the side seam and the rolled rim, where the wall is joined and turned. Lids can stay plain; the cup carries the brand. Design help is unlimited and free, and placement around the seam and rim is settled at proof stage, before anything is printed.
Coffee Cups for Cafés, Kiosks, Office Pantries and Events
Independent cafés buy branded cups to make a single location look established, and chains use them to keep every branch identical. Kiosks and coffee carts often run one or two sizes only, which keeps stock simple and orders small. Office pantries and coworking spaces order cups printed with their own branding for meetings and visitors. Event caterers and conference organizers buy runs printed for a single occasion. Bakeries and sandwich shops that serve coffee alongside food use one cup design across the counter, and the format carries straight over to drive-through and counter food service, where a hot drink often leaves in the same bag as the meal. Juice bars use the same cups for smoothies and other cold drinks.
Ordering Cups Size by Size From a Single Proof
Tell us the sizes you serve, the wall build for each, kraft or white, and how many lids per size. One design is then fitted to each cup size and proofed together, so the range matches when it lands. Production runs 8–12 business days from proof approval, with rush available at an extra cost stated before you order. The minimum is 100 cups. Plates and setup are in the quote, so adding a second size doesn't bring a tooling charge you hadn't seen, and shipping is included too. If the bulk run doesn't match the proof you signed off, we reprint it at our cost.

What brands say about this box
They live there rather than here, where we can't edit them, delete them, or pick which ones you get to see. That is exactly what makes them worth reading.
Read all reviews on Trustpilot(opens in a new tab)Answers before you have to ask.
Are your coffee cups single or double wall?
Both are available. Single wall suits cold drinks and short-hold service. Double wall holds heat longer and needs no separate sleeve, which is worth costing against buying cups and sleeves separately.
Can cups be printed in full color?
Yes, though wrap printing has its own constraints. The print is applied to a flat sheet that's then formed into a cone, so artwork distorts slightly toward the base. We account for that at artwork stage.
Are your cups recyclable?
Most paper cups have a thin lining that affects recyclability, and facilities vary in whether they accept them. If recyclability is a claim you're making publicly, tell us and we'll spec a stock and lining that supports it.
What's the turnaround on custom coffee cups?
Around 8–12 business days from proof approval. Cup printing has an extra artwork step to account for the cone shape, which we handle at proof stage. Rush is available at a stated premium.
What's the minimum on custom coffee cups?
100 cups. That's low enough for a single café to brand its service without committing to pallet volume, and free samples come with orders above 10,000 units.
