Cardboard Wine Boxes
Cardboard wine boxes are for presenting a bottle, not shipping it: gifting, cellar-door sales and retail display, where full-color print on coated board looks considered and deliberate. Twin-bottle presentation boxes need a divider so bottles don't knock, even when never shipped. If the bottle is going into a parcel network, a rated corrugated shipper is the correct choice instead.

Cardboard Wine Boxes for the Cellar Door and the Gift Shelf
A cardboard wine box does most of its work in the few seconds after a sale. The bottle goes across a tasting-room counter or into a shopper's hand, and the box is what they carry out. That makes its panels a second label, with room for the vintage, the vineyard, a tasting note or a food pairing, none of which fits on the bottle itself. The people who buy these are wineries with a cellar door, independent wine shops building a gift range, and companies handing bottles to clients in person. Each is buying a printed carton sized to one bottle or a pair, made from folding board and cut so the bottle sits upright without rattling.
Coated Board, Divider and Bottle-Fit Specs
The carton is cut from full-color coated presentation board, a folding stock with a smooth face that takes print edge to edge.
| Attribute | Specification |
|---|---|
| Board | Coated folding board |
| Bottle counts | Single bottle or twin bottle |
| Divider | Board divider between twin bottles |
| Fit tolerance | Around ±1mm to the bottle |
| Sizes | Cut to your bottle's height and diameter |
Give us the bottle's height and widest diameter, including any wax capsule or flared lip, and the cradle is cut to those figures. A loose fit lets a bottle rock against the panels and scuff the print, even when the box never leaves a shelf.
Printed Board Is Enough When the Bottle Stays in Hand
Glass breaks in transit because it moves, and a counter handover involves almost no movement. That is the case for printed board here: the money that would go into a double-wall rating goes into the print instead, where the person receiving the bottle actually sees it. These boxes are commonly made as a tall lid over a bottle-length tray, so the bottle lifts out cleanly. The limit is real. Folding board flexes when squeezed, so it suits a bottle given within days, not a keepsake case reopened every year. If the box has to cross a parcel network or sit in a cupboard for a decade, this is the wrong variant, and we would point you to a shipper or a rigid build.
Full-Color Panels, Foil and Room for the Small Print
Coated board takes full-color print across every panel, so a vineyard photograph or a label illustration can wrap the whole box rather than sitting in a small window. Foil works well for a crest or the winery name on a matte field, and a matte or gloss coat finishes the surface. What doesn't apply here is deep emboss, which can crack folding board under the die, so we keep it for rigid builds. Plan a back or side panel for the details your market requires on alcohol packaging. We leave the space and print what you supply, but confirming which statements, warnings and type sizes apply in your state or country is your call. Seasonal artwork can change between runs without touching the dieline.
Cardboard Wine Boxes at Tasting Rooms, Wine Shops and Corporate Desks
Tasting rooms use them at the till, so a visitor who buys after a flight leaves with something that looks deliberate rather than a bottle in a paper sleeve. Wine shops stock single and twin sizes for walk-in buyers who want a bottle ready to give, often printed with the shop's own name rather than a winery's. Corporate buyers order them for year-end client bottles delivered by hand, with the company logo beside a short message. Wedding and event planners use them as table gifts. What links all of these is boxed bottles given as presents and handed over in person. Restaurants selling a bottle to take home after dinner are a smaller but steady use, and the single-bottle size suits them best.
Ordering a Presentation Run Around One Vintage
Send the bottle's height and diameter and we build the dieline from them, confirming in writing whether those numbers describe the bottle or the inside of the box. Our design team works on the artwork with you at no charge and with no cap on revisions, then sends a proof for sign-off. Once you approve it, production runs 8–12 business days, and shipping is included in the price. Three separate checks run on every box before dispatch. When the next vintage changes only the label art, the same dieline carries over and only the artwork is reproofed. Quotes list dies, plates and setup upfront, so nothing is added after you approve the price.

What brands say about this box

When is a cardboard wine box the right choice?
When the bottle is being presented rather than shipped — gifting, cellar door, retail display. It prints in full color and looks considered. For transit, a rated corrugated shipper is the right answer.
Can cardboard wine boxes hold two bottles?
Yes, with a divider. Twin-bottle presentation boxes are a holiday staple. The divider stops the bottles knocking, which matters even in a gift box that isn't shipped.
Should wine gift boxes be rigid?
For gifting, generally yes. A wine gift box is kept and reopened, and a flexing box undercuts a premium bottle. For shippers, corrugated is correct and rigid would be wasted.
How long do cardboard wine boxes take?
About 8–12 business days from proof approval, divider included. Rush is available at an added cost stated upfront, with shipping included on every order.
What's the minimum on cardboard wine boxes?
100 boxes. That suits a single-vintage gift run or a cellar-door range without requiring the volumes a large winery would order.
