Kraft Candle Boxes
Kraft candle boxes suit soy, natural and clean-fragrance lines where the packaging should read honest, and unbleached board recycles easily. For prestige home fragrance at higher prices, kraft usually undersells the product, and we'd tell you so. Print in one or two colors, since unbleached kraft absorbs ink. Most brands keep one structure and change only the printed panel per scent.

Kraft Candle Boxes for Soy and Clean-Fragrance Pourers
Soy and clean-fragrance candles are usually sold on what's left out: no paraffin, no synthetic dyes, short ingredient lists. Customers who buy them read labels and notice when the packaging contradicts the product. A glossy, heavily printed box around a candle sold as simple and natural sends a mixed message. Kraft avoids that because its brown color is the board itself, not a printed effect. The buyers are small-batch pourers, market sellers and growing natural brands, often running many scents with small quantities of each and watching unit cost closely. They need a box that looks honest, protects a jar, and doesn't make each new scent expensive to launch.
Kraft Board Caliper and Build for Candle Cartons
Kraft candle boxes are made from unbleached kraft at 18–24pt, a folding board stiff enough to protect a jar when paired with a fitted insert.
| Attribute | Specification |
|---|---|
| Stock | Unbleached kraft board |
| Caliper | 18–24pt |
| Build | Folding carton, ships flat |
| Insert tolerance | ±0.5mm |
| Box tolerance | ±1mm |
| Sizing | Cut to your vessel |
The long fibers in unbleached board give it strength, but for a heavy jar the insert still does the protective work. Measurements are confirmed in writing as internal or external before the dieline is cut, so the carton closes cleanly over the jar's lid.
Why a Kraft Tuck Carton Suits Everyday Candles
For an everyday soy candle, most brands choose a brown tuck-end candle carton, and the reasoning is mostly about cost per scent. A tuck carton ships flat, stores in a small space and folds up quickly at the pack bench, which matters when you're boxing dozens of scents in small batches. The simple structure also suits the material. Kraft's appeal is plainness, and an elaborate build full of folds and features works against it. A window or a two piece lid can be made in kraft if a product needs one. For a candle sold at a modest price in good numbers, though, the tuck carton keeps packaging cost in proportion to the candle inside it.
One or Two Colors, Foil and Blind Emboss on Kraft
Unbleached board absorbs ink, and its brown tone shifts every color printed on it, so the designs that work best on kraft are simple ones. One or two colors, usually black, white or a dark tone, give the clearest result. A white underprint beneath a color restores some accuracy, at the cost of an extra pass through the press. Foil reads well against brown, with copper and gold especially suited to a craft look. Blind emboss adds a logo with no ink at all, which appeals to brands avoiding coatings. Full-color photography and pale pastels are the things that don't work; they come out muddy and dull. Keep detailed copy short and in a dark color.
Kraft Candle Boxes for Market Stalls, Farm Shops and Online Soy Brands
You'll see kraft candle boxes most often on market stalls and at craft fairs, with sellers keeping a few box designs and many scents. Farm shops and zero-waste stores stock them because the packaging fits with everything else on their shelves. Online soy brands use kraft so the box in the customer's hands matches the natural photography on their website. Makers who pour candles alongside natural soap and bath products often use kraft across both lines for one consistent look on a stall or shelf. Small favor candles for weddings and events suit a simple kraft carton too, printed with a name or date in one color.
Running a Kraft Range One Scent Panel at a Time
Most kraft candle ranges grow one scent at a time, so the cost of adding a scent matters as much as the cost of the first order. Keep a single box size and structure for the whole range, and vary only the printed area that carries the scent name and color. Each new scent is then a new piece of artwork on an existing dieline, with no new tooling. The minimum is 100 boxes. Production takes 8–12 business days from proof approval, and rush is available at an added cost quoted upfront. Proofing and design help are free and unlimited, shipping is included, and every box goes through a three-stage check before it leaves.

What brands say about this box
They live there rather than here, where we can't edit them, delete them, or pick which ones you get to see. That is exactly what makes them worth reading.

Does kraft suit every kind of candle?
Most of it, though not all. Kraft suits soy, natural and clean-fragrance lines where the packaging should read honest. For prestige home fragrance at higher price points it usually undersells the product.
Are kraft candle boxes recyclable?
Yes. Kraft is unbleached pulp and recycles easily, which is part of why clean-fragrance brands choose it. If you need to meet a specific retailer screen, tell us and we'll spec accordingly.
Is kraft cheaper than coated board?
Usually slightly, since coated board is bleached and treated. The gap narrows at volume. For most candle brands the deciding factor is positioning rather than price — natural or vivid, not cheap or expensive.
How soon can kraft candle boxes be made?
About 8–12 business days after you sign off the proof. There's a rush lane at an added cost, priced upfront, and shipping comes included with free design help.
Can I order kraft boxes per scent?
Yes, and most brands do. Keeping one box structure and changing only the printed panel per scent is the economical way to run a range as it grows.
